Dear Buffalo,

For what seems like forever, I have had a strange pull towards you. There is really no reason, but I have spent years being attracted to your citizens.

While in college, I met a lovely young man who was born and raised in Buffalo. We dated for eight years. His family became mine. We moved across the country together. And we forged a life.

Upon my arrival in Phoenix, I encountered a wonderful friend, a friend I would not exchange for the world. She was also a Buffalo native. We constructed a friendship that would transcend no matter what challenges we faced.

Then there was a second man. A man who stimulated me and showed me what is was like to be me. One more unexpected Buffalonian in my life.

Then finally one random day, my path crossed one last member of the Buffalo community. I was sitting in a bar, reading a book when I was approached by a stranger. A stranger who was from Buffalo. We sat, we talked, we hit it off from the start. Finally, I was convinced that I should see what all the fuss was about.

So 3,000 miles I moved with a one last friend. And I fell in love. Buffalo, you rocked my world. You are a diamond in the rough. A city that just needs a little love. You have my love and my unconditional support.

So, no matter where I am and what I am doing, Buffalo, I will be there for you. I am you loudest cheerleader.

All my love,
Susan
